Job Description Summary:
The Custom Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all interior construction activities on large-scale commercial and multifamily developments. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with exceptional quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with interior finishes, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and final project closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
Field & Project Management:
• Oversee all interior construction activities, including finish work, subcontractor coordination, and inspections.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all interior phases.
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to address challenges and maintain workflow.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, and Copper Builders' safety policies.
Quality Control & Execution:
• Implement rigorous quality control measures for all interior work, ensuring compliance with contract documents and industry standards.
• Monitor progress and coordinate with trade partners, suppliers, and vendors.
• Oversee punch list completion, ensuring all work meets final specifications before handover.
• Conduct inspections and resolve any deficiencies promptly.
Scheduling & Cost Management:
• Assist in developing and maintaining interior finish schedules and budget tracking.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
• Work closely with procurement and subcontractor teams to ensure on-time material deliveries. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Lead and mentor assistant superintendents, project engineers, and field teams.
• Provide regular progress reports and updates to leadership.
• Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure a seamless project turnover.
Customer Facing & Collaboration
• Act as the primary on-site representative for high-end buyers, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
• Communicate effectively with clients, answering questions and addressing concerns regarding interior construction progress and quality.
• Work closely with Copper Builders' interior design team, ensuring seamless execution of design specifications.
• Collaborate across multiple divisions within Copper Builders, including project management, sales, and customer service, to deliver a premium final product.
• Maintain a professional and polished demeanor when interacting with owners, architects, and key stakeholders
Project Closeout & Turnover:
• Ensure that interior spaces are fully completed and meet owner expectations.
• Conduct final walkthroughs and coordinate warranty follow-ups as needed.
• Maintain thorough project documentation for post-construction evaluations.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in construction management or related field experience is a plus, or a combination of experience and education.
• 5+ years of experience in residential construction is required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Thorough knowledge of general construction.
• Must be computer literate in Excel, Word, Windows and etc.
• Must have the ability to work in a very fast-paced industry and run multiple jobs that are in different phases of construction, at once.
• Ability to multi-task, which requires strong organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills, and must be able to pay attention to detail, time management, and quality.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to perform regular site visits
