As a Custodial Sanitation Team Member, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the store, including seating areas, restrooms, and back offices. Our commitment to customer satisfaction is paramount, and all team members are expected to uphold a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service at all times. You will perform all duties in line with team and store Standard Operating Procedures and actively support Whole Foods Market values and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding cleaning and maintenance services.
  • Complete daily and weekly maintenance tasks.
  • Assist various teams with cleaning projects.
  • Conduct minor repairs and improvements as needed.
  • Order necessary supplies for store maintenance.
  • Address cleaning emergencies promptly.
  • Help maintain the store's landscaping and parking area.
  • Engage in continuous cleaning of all store departments.
  • Arrive at work on time, appropriately dressed, and ready to perform tasks.
  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by store or regional leadership.

Experience Required
  • No previous retail experience necessary.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing/walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
  • Tasks will require bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Willingness to work in a wet or cold environment.
  • Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment, including box cutters and electric pallet jacks.

The wage range for this position is $17.00 - $21.20 per hour, depending on experience. Whole Foods Market offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for benefits is determined based on the specific Whole Foods Benefits plan in effect at your date of hire. New team members who successfully complete their first 90 days may qualify for a rate increase after their anniversary.
