As a Culinary Production Cook specializing in Prepared Foods, you will engage in a variety of tasks essential for maintaining our cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars to ensure superior food quality and presentation. Your role will involve effective stocking and sanitation practices, while consistently ensuring a positive experience for our customers and team members in accordance with our high standards. You will be expected to uphold Whole Foods Market's core values and quality goals through every action taken.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food items for various stations according to production sheets and recipes to ensure high quality and consistent results.
  • Label, date, cover, and monitor all prepared items for freshness, while maintaining an organized work environment.
  • Timely replenish food levels to meet customer demand, ensuring that all items are displayed attractively.
  • Arrive on time, properly groomed, and ready to work for all scheduled shifts, including necessary training and meetings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally, while engaging customers with suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective prep, storage, stocking, and merchandising of all products.
  • Comply with established procedures for food safety and sanitation, maintaining a clean work area, equipment, and customer environment.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties efficiently while ensuring accurate pricing and signage.
  • Report any safety hazards or violations immediately, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Fulfill additional duties as designated by store or regional leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Comprehensive product knowledge with the ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • A solid understanding of fundamental cooking techniques and food production.
  • Good math skills and strong communication abilities, with a dedication to teamwork.
  • A capacity to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and vendors.
  • Proficient time management and organizational skills to ensure task completion.

Desired Experience:
  • Approximately 6-12 months of experience in a retail environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing or walking for 6-8 hours during a typical workday.
  • Frequent hand use including grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Regular exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Experience using kitchen tools and equipment safely.
