Job Overview The Pillars of Mankato provides independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments for seniors in a specially designed community. We incorporate the seven components of wellness (emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, social, environmental, and occupational) into our 118 units that make up The Pillars. Located near US 14 and 169's crossroads, our community has a bus that residents can ride for our outings.
We are looking for a
Server/Culinary Assistant to join our team. This food service role is responsible for providing dining room meal service to our senior-age residents and maintaining supplies in the kitchenettes for our Senior Living Community in Mankato, MN.
This nutrition services schedule includes;
- 24 hours per two weeks ; part-time
- Week1: Monday 4-7P and Wednesday 4-7P
- Week2: Monday 11A-7:30P, Saturday 4P-7P, and Sunday 11A-7:30P
Responsibilities - Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
- Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
- Offers resident meal choices and meets resident's specific dietary needs.
- Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
- Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
- Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
- Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
- Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
- Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
- Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
- Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
- Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
- Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
Required Qualifications - less than 1 year experience
Preferred Qualifications - High School Diploma
- 1 year experience
