Computed tomography (CT) technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images .
A caregiver in this position would either work a Mid Shift or Second Shift:
- Midshift start time would range from 9a-12:30pm and end time would be 10 hours after start time (start times varies on need of the Dept. that day)
- Second Shift - 12:30pm - 11pm
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, co-workers and self, by using appropriate radiation and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
