We are now looking for an experienced PRN CT Tech to join our team at our Beach Boulevard center in Jacksonville, FL. Precision Imaging Centers are outpatient-only facilities, offering a welcoming and supportive work environment.

Position Overview: CT Technologists utilize their communication, patient care, and collaborative skills to interact with patients and other members of the imaging team. They use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. A CT Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, operate the CT scanner, and position the patient appropriately. Effective CT Technologists are patient advocates who display strong problem-solving, technical, and interpersonal skills.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Take patient medical history before an exam (10%)
  • Correctly interpret doctors' written scanning instructions (10%)
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation (10%)
  • Position patients on the exam table and use immobilization devices as needed (10%)
  • Set appropriate technical parameters, operate CT scanners, and observe image data (30%)
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and necessity of repeats (10%)
  • Inject contrast media as required (10%)
  • Perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong equipment life (10%)

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Stay up to date on developments and trends in CT imaging techniques and equipment
  • Participate in educational programs and meet continuing education requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Lead Technologists to ensure efficient patient flow
  • May oversee and instruct CT students within the department
  • Maintain an adequate supply inventory for daily CT operations
  • Perform daily visual inspections and ACR QA on the scanner, reporting issues promptly

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program
  • Florida license in Radiography
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography
  • Experience in Venipuncture
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and patients
  • Adaptability to new technologies and techniques
  • Knowledge of CT techniques and procedures
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills
  • High degree of integrity and responsibility
  • Sensitivity to the needs of ill and injured patients

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.), frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions
  • Various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends
