Purpose: The CRNA provides anesthetic care in cooperation with the supervising physician, ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Follow established policies and regulatory standards
- Administer anesthesia and related care in pre-anesthetic, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia phases
- Participate in Quality Improvement processes
- Teach and evaluate newly-hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs
- Manage controlled substances per policy and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Knowledge of controlled substance policies
- Master s degree preferred
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
- Board Certified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications as required
- Act 33 and Act 34 clearances with renewal
