Job Description

Credit Strategy and Program Management is responsible for portfolio management for the Wholesale credit portfolio across U.S. Bank. Credit Portfolio Strategy is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the various risk frameworks to ensure the Wholesale portfolio remains within the banks risk appetite. The team provides independent risk management and governance around various frameworks including risk rating, single name aggregation, single name concentration, portfolio construction, risk appetite, and risk mitigation. The group works closely with Risk and Business partners to build out a comprehensive and proactive approach to portfolio management that promotes a strong risk management culture, aligned with U.S. Bank's risk appetite.

The Credit Strategy Analyst role, as part of Credit Strategy, provides empirical support for various credit risk projects within the Wholesale Commercial portfolios. This role includes the opportunity to develop analytics supporting many key strategic initiatives that are highly visible and important to the success of the Credit Strategy and Program Management - including risk rating framework and scorecards, hold limits and concentrations, and risk mitigation strategies. This role will identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data to provide empirical support to business requests as well as provide recommendations for action. This roe also may consist of developing, maintaining, and writing programming code (through SQL, SAS, Python, or other languages) for analysis and reporting by aggregating data across multiple databases to discover source and cause of the risks identified. This role will also present data and analysis in a clear and concise manner allowing senior management to quickly understand the results and recommendations to in support of data driven decisions.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically 3+ years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Proficient in computer programming languages - such as Microsoft SQL, SAS, or Python
  • Proficient in data visualization tools - such as PowerBI
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
  • Intermediate understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicable professional certifications
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $81,515.00 - $95,900.00 - $105,490.00
