Are you an experienced leader in credit and collections with a passion for process improvement and team development? A growing company in the consumer goods space is looking to bring on a Credit and Collections Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive strategic financial operations. This is a direct hire opportunity through Robert Half's permanent placement team, offering long-term career growth and a collaborative work environment. This is an on-site role (4x a week), based in Everett, Washington.


What You'll Be Doing:

As the Credit and Collections Manager, you'll oversee the full credit-to-cash cycle, managing a team responsible for credit reviews, collections, chargebacks, and risk mitigation. You'll be instrumental in setting and refining credit policies, improving operational workflows, and building relationships both internally and externally to support business goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of the credit, collections, and chargeback functions.
  • Perform ongoing credit risk assessments for new and existing customers.
  • Set credit limits and terms, with regular reviews and updates.
  • Partner with global credit teams to align on customer risk strategies.
  • Manage external relationships with credit reporting agencies and collection partners.
  • Prepare and present credit risk and chargeback trend reports to senior leadership.
  • Identify and execute process improvements to reduce risk and improve collection cycles.
  • Support audit activities and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Monitor and manage customer bankruptcies, including claims filing and follow-up.
  • Coach and develop team members to foster growth and accountability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role, with a proven ability to mentor and motivate teams.
  • Strong understanding of credit laws, UCC filings, and payment guarantees.
  • Experience in consumer goods and retail, ideally in wholesale or import/distribution.
  • Skilled in interpreting financial statements and identifying risk indicators.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
