The work unit exists to implement the goals and objectives of Colorado Parks and Wildlife's strategic long-range and operational plans to accomplish the Legislative mandate of protecting, preserving, managing, and enhancing the State's recreational resources at Staunton State Park within the guidelines of Colorado state statutes, regulations, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife policies and procedures for the use, benefit and enjoyment of over 300,000 annual visitors that utilize the area. The work unit provides a safe and quality recreational experience along with a wide range of appropriate recreational and educational opportunities while protecting and enhancing the facilities and natural resources of the area by providing visitor services, maintenance functions, natural resource protection and education, administration functions, law enforcement, inter-agency cooperation, and program management/development. The work unit administers Colorado Parks and Wildlife programs within the park and district and provides recreation and natural resource management expertise to Federal, State, County, Local, and Private entities.

Description of Job
The purpose of this position is to handle the administrative tasks necessary to operate Staunton State Park. This position exists to provide high-quality customer service through public contact; manage a variety of park office programs including sales of products and services; answer public questions about Staunton State Park and CPW, and provide accurate and timely information; provide administrative support to park operations with an emphasis on general office support, accounting, procurement, budgeting, payroll, supervising assigned staff; and provide local, regional, and statewide marketing and public outreach.
Customer Service
This position works directly and communicates with the public and internal staff to answer questions about the park and the agency. Duties include but are not limited to, selling CPW products and merchandise, answering phones and emails, providing assistance and information about Staunton State Park, CPW, camping, reservations, licenses, registrations, hunting, boating, fishing, area information, and general outdoor recreation. Maintains website updates and social media posts in collaboration with other staff. Oversees park event facility reservations and event coordination. Implements established processes necessary to meet customer and staff needs, and accurately completes and accounts for all internal and external customer products and associated documents. Utilizes IPAWS and other databases to fulfill customer and staff needs.

Accounting, Budgeting, and Data Entry
This position assists the Park Manager and park staff with accounting functions including processing invoices, creating and maintaining accurate accounting records, CORE procurement and entry, IPAWS transactions, reconciling parks and wildlife sales and products, and submitting supporting documentation as required and as needed. The position reconciles and tracks budgets using available software. Is knowledgeable and proficient in, but not limited to, A4, CPW dashboard, SARA, Captrack, Word, Excel, Quicken, EDSYS, and KRONOS computer programs and systems. Establishes procedures, creates forms, and computer spreadsheets, and enters, tracks, and prepares reports on expenditures for operating, temporary work programs, section budgets, and small capital expenses. This position works with the Park Manager and establishes cash handling procedures to maintain security and accountability of cash funds and is the custodian of all change funds. This position allocates spending on state credit cards. Demonstrates and maintains proficiency with programs and databases used by the position.

Office Manager, Clerical, and Special Project Support
This position manages and operates the Visitor Center/Park Office, and retail store by providing general office/clerical support through planning, organizing, and implementing programs including reservations, pass and license sales, a retail program, and managing IPAWS. Maintains office equipment including, but not limited to, printers, copiers, credit card machines, phones, computers, and IPAWS hardware. Monitors and maintains a working inventory of general office supplies to support park operations and park staff. Assists the Park Manager and other park staff with daily operational demands that can include general clerical typing, note-taking, copying, reporting, filing, and record-keeping. Informs Park Manager and section managers of critical information and helps manage complaints. Manages all park visitor publications, brochures, and regulation handouts. Responsible for all hiring paperwork, EdSys transactions, and Kronos functions for temporary employees. Assists the Park Manager with special projects, workflow improvements, and efficiencies within the Park and CPW. Assists other park and agency staff as requested and needed. Communicates information, and dispatches field staff via phone, email, or two-way radio.

Supervision
This position directly oversees and supervises temporary workers, interns, and volunteers delegated to their areas of responsibility. The position recruits, interviews, hires, trains, supervises, advises, counsels, motivates, assigns duties, schedules, resolves conflicts, delegates special projects/duties, ensures compliance with statutes and all policies and procedures, takes appropriate corrective/disciplinary actions regarding employee performance as directed, conducts meetings, and develops work programs for their respective temporary employees, interns, and assigned volunteers that accomplishes the work unit and Colorado Parks and Wildlife's desired mission. The position implements processes to ensure assigned temporary workers, interns, and volunteers are trained and performing their assigned duties within the park on a daily basis. The position will work with the Park Manager and other park staff on scheduling and adjusting staffing patterns as the need arises.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in customer service in an office setting. Retail manager, front desk, call center in an office environment or in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
