Job Summary

Pathologists' Assistant is a highly trained certified allied health professional who provides various pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. Pathology services may include the preparation, gross description, examination and dissection of human tissue from surgical or autopsy specimens.

Job Requirements
  • Education
    • Required: Bachelor's Degree in a Science related field
  • Experience
    • Required: 2 years anatomic pathology tissue preparation
    • Preferred: Completion of an NAACLS approved Pathologist's Assistant Program
  • Skills
    • Strong mental and visual concentration.
    • Good hand/eye coordination.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication.
    • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management. Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication.
    • Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: ASCP Pathologists' Assistant certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
