  • Job Summary
    • Under the direction of the Assistant Director of QA, the Nurse Denials Coordinator collaborates with physicians and physician s offices, as well as other departments, to support medical necessity and ultimately the reduction of denials. The RN collaborates with a variety of insurance providers in obtaining required prior authorizations to ensure appropriate reimbursement. This position will maintain regular communication with Clinic Managers and clinic office staff regarding identified discrepancies in insurance eligibility information, as well as reviewing denied pre-authorization requests. The Nurse Denials Coordinator will serve as a clinical resource for the Patient Access department and provide support during appeals and Peer-to-Peers. The RN will review denial reports and determines patterns with recommendation for best course of action and will work in conjunction with all Revenue Cycle partners to prevent authorization denials.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
        • Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program
        • Preferred: Bachelor s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
    • Experience
        • Required: 5 years of clinical nursing experience
        • Preferred: Experience in one of the following: Specialty Physician's Office, Pre-Admissions, Utilization Review, Case Management.
        • Preferred: 2 years of surgical nursing experience
