  • Job Summary
    • A Unit Assistant I completes duties as assigned under the direct supervision of healthcare staff, and communicates effectively with members of the care delivery team. While in the program, a Unit Assistant I will be pre-assigned to explore different healthcare departments, gaining exposure to various career pathways. Upon completion of the program, a Unit Assistant I will complete an interview for selection to potentially advance to a Unit Assistant II role in chosen area of interest.

      The Unit Assistant I will be:

      • Exposed to the daily routines of healthcare workers.
      • Provided opportunities to identify career interests in healthcare.
      • Provided exposure to academic, technical, and personal skills required in healthcare professions.
      • Complete assigned tasks per department assigned.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Currently enrolled in high school or high school equivalent program as well as the Healthcare Alliance Program.
    • Experience
      • No prior experience required
    • Skills
      • Must be 16 years of age or older
      • Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families
      • Ability to problem solve
      • Flexibility and ability to accept direction from members of the care team
