  • Job Summary
    • The role of the Admit Verification Specialist is to ensure that all patients being admitted to the hospital are placed in the appropriate status per the admit order as well as making any corrections needed, that all admit orders are signed properly, and verify that the accurate insurance is present on each patient account. The Admit Verification Specialist is also responsible for financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts. The individual must possess a thorough understanding of the registration area for which they serve as well as a general understanding of the overall Patient Access operation. This individual must possess strong communication skills and must demonstrate the ability to utilize skills to inspire teamwork, quality, accountability, and ownership among the team. Some travel from site to site, as well as extended hours may be required of an Admit Verification Specialist based on business needs of the department.

      • Required: High School Diploma
    • Experience
      • Preferred: At least 1 year prior registration experience

      • Strong communication and organizational skills
      • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
      • Detail-oriented with the ability to spot errors and trends
      • Computer and keyboarding experience
      • Excellent customer service skills
      • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
      • Knowledge of need for confidentiality
      • Ability to work independently in a home setting
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Preferred: CHAA or CRCR Preferred
