While the full salary range for the Court Services / Fugitive Clerk position is $23.11 - $34.68 hourly / $48,068.80 - $72,134.40 annually, the anticipated hiring range is $24.73 - $28.89 hourly / $51,438.40 - $60,091.20 annually. Final salary is DOQ.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the supervision of a Court Services Sergeant, this position performs a wide variety of standardized duties associated with records management, court schedules, in-custody inmate court appearances, coordinating inmate transports within the state, as well as out-of-state extraditions. This position maintains specialized clerical records and duties requiring advanced knowledge of the department and operations of the section or unit to which assigned.
Duties

• Prepares reports and compiles data using a computer.
• Reconciles court lists and court dockets for in-custody court appearances.
• Maintains, files and sorts various paperwork, records, and legal documents as required by assignment on daily, monthly or annual basis.
• Compiles data from court appearance records, returns records and warrant pick-ups for completion of monthly reports.
• Schedules writ pick-ups and assists with writ processing.
• Uses manual and automated systems to track various types of information and sensitive documents.
• Answers incoming telephone inquiries from court clerks, other law enforcement agencies and the public.
• Operates computers and standard office equipment, including commonly used machines and computer software programs.
• Maintains regular and acceptable attendance at such level as determined at the Sheriff's Office discretion.
• Is available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as the Sheriff's Office determines is necessary or desirable to meet its needs.
• Performs duties onsite, except those job duties that are customarily or by nature performed offsite.
• Follows and supports the mission, values, organizational philosophies, operational principals, code of conduct, and policies and procedures of the Sheriff's Office.
• Interacts effectively with others.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of the Warrants process.
• Knowledge of the Extradition process.
• Knowledge of office methods and procedures, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.
• Ability to operate computers and commonly used computer software programs, as well as any other standard office equipment as required by the position.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply general procedures to specific work applications.
• Ability to prepare and maintain clerical records, reports and filing systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with superiors, co-workers and the general public.
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both verbal and written English.
• Ability to apply sound reasoning and decision-making.
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with all staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of clerical/administrative experience.
OR
Any equivalent education and experience that satisfies the requirements of the job as approved by the Sheriff.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to type 35 WPM corrected.
• CCIC/NCIC system access and operation certification.
• Must be able to be certified and/or bonded (i.e., Notary Public).
• Must possess CPR and First Aid certification within the initial status period. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

401(a) DEFINED BENEFIT RETIREMENT PLAN:
Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office employees participate in a mandatory defined benefit program designed to help employees establish a source of income for retirement years. Through the Plan, eligible employees must set aside 9.00%, which is subject to change in the coming years, on a pretax basis of which the County matches at 9.75%. The County also contributes 6.20% to Social Security.
BIO-HAZARD NOTICE:
