Courier II - Clinical Lab - Administration

Job Summary:
To transport patients and/or basic goods and materials. To maintain appropriate logs and records and inspect, clean and perform simple routine maintenance on vehicle.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of related experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid Driver's License.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of vehicle operating procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and practices. Ability to log and record information. Ability to lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities
  • Transports passengers in vehicles/shuttle carts designed to carry less than 16 passengers for pick-up and delivery of goods and materials to varying locations.
  • Performs operational inspection of vehicle to include tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water and interior.
  • Completes operator's report to provide information on times vehicle is operated, miles driven, number of passengers, types of freight, and/or other applicable data.
  • Assists in unloading and loading materials and supplies.
  • Maintains applicable files, records, and documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, constant travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, occasional sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
