Job Duties:
  • The County Admin Support Specialist II performs a variety of routine and advanced clerical functions. Exercises judgment and uses knowledge of operations, programs, and general office procedures to make independent decisions in assisting the staff and clients in front office setting.
  • Functions as case control receptionist for all programs (SNAP, TANF, Child and Adult Welfare) within office of Laurens Co. DSS. Greets walk-ins and discerns their needs. Serves as Customer Service Representative.
  • Performs job delivery and/or performance with positive or appropriate professional customer service delivery to clients, the public, and co-workers as an integral requirement.
  • Serves as switchboard operator of the agency by receiving calls, answering questions, and transferring calls to the appropriate extensions. Monitors, provides assistance, and/or transfers electronic voice mail.
  • Screens and registers new applications and re-certifications for SNAP and TANF Economic Services Division using SCWINS for both on-line and paper documentation. Receives, opens, date/county stamps, and distributes all drop box and incoming mail to appropriate individuals or through SCOSA/SCWINS. Copies and scans supporting documentation into SCOSA and rotates/assigns work according to RSW (Regional Specialized Workload) procedures. Monitors and processes the FA Mailbox. Acts as backup for electronic faxes received.
  • Prepares daily mail for dispatch, to include verifying and affixing proper postage, delivers and check post office box daily.
  • Performs bookkeeping functions for all county-controlled funds, client accounts and accounts receivable from the SNAP and TANF programs.
  • Ensures that Personal Identifying Information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
  • Participate in Red Cross training and shelter duty or other emergency shelter/services as directed.
  • Assists supervisor when needed and performs other related duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A High School Diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience.

Selected positions may require the ability to type at a corrected rate of 35 words per minute.
