Candidate Source is working closely with an industrial supplier in Richmond, VA, to find an experienced Counter Sales Manager to lead a high-volume sales team and ensure excellent customer service. This role requires a driven leader who can manage a team, work in a fast-paced environment, and bring industry knowledge to help grow sales.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong Leadership & Initiative - A self-starter who takes charge, motivates a team, and makes things happen without waiting for direction.
  • Industry Experience - Background in counter sales, contractor sales, or similar environments is essential.
  • Product Knowledge - Experience in HVAC and plumbing contract work is a plus, as learning the full product line can take years.
  • Calm Under Pressure - Must be able to handle stress well, stay composed in busy periods, and make quick, confident decisions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a counter sales team of 4, driving performance and customer satisfaction
  • Manage and develop team members, setting clear expectations and conducting regular performance reviews
  • Analyze sales and inventory reports to identify growth opportunities and improve efficiency
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to keep inventory stocked and displays updated
  • Serve as an escalation point for customer inquiries and ensure a high level of service
  • Assist with order fulfillment, stocking merchandise, and answering customer calls as needed
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Lead by example-this is a hands-on role, not a desk job
Work Schedule & Environment
  • Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (some flexibility, with peak hours in the morning and midday)
  • Expect to work an average of 45 hours per week, with potential for more during busy periods
  • No corporate suits or glass offices-this is a hands-on leadership role
