The position of Counter Sales Representative is based out of Grand Junction, CO:
Summary
The Counter Sales Representative is a resource for immediate service and product knowledge for our customers. Provides excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and efficient processing of their orders. Works closely with the branch team to assist in receiving, shipping, and stocking.
This position requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of the branch. You will be responsible for counter sales, assisting in warehouse operations, and serving as a non-CDL backup driver for deliveries, ensuring seamless support across all functions.
This position's schedule will be Monday to Friday from 7AM to 4PM with the weekends OFF.
What You'll Do
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and processing of their orders or returns
Assist in driving electrical distribution sales for our counter business and developing new and existing customer relationships
Assist with daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keeping showroom and counter clean and organized
Assist with warehouse functions as needed, including receiving, shipping, stocking, and deliveries
Stay informed and educated on product knowledge
Assist inside sales as needed
Inform manager of any potentially hazard or elevated situation pertaining to safety or the satisfaction of a customer
Load and unload vehicles with materials for delivery to various customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling products.
Make timely deliveries to branches and customers as required, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local and state driving laws and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience preferred
Previous branch experience preferred
Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
If required to make deliveries:
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of their Motor Vehicle Record
Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
Must not have had a suspended drivers' license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities preferred
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of electrical distribution or other electrical sales environments preferred
Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows-based software preferred
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good team player
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
Ability to type on a computer keyboard
