Job Title: Cost Estimator III

Location: Jackson, MI

Job Type: Contract

Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week

Schedule: Onsite/Hybrid (Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays)

Pay Range: $65-70 per hour

Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Estimator to join one of our clients in Michigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing complete estimates for assigned projects of medium size and complexity, encompassing various types of contracts. This role requires advanced knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare comprehensive estimates for assigned projects, either directly or through subordinate personnel.
Develop familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the area of responsibility.
Utilize advanced knowledge of assigned disciplines, estimating techniques, and cost control to ensure accurate and reliable estimates.
Interpret and analyze computerized cost data and systems to support project estimations.
Collaborate with various departments, including Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical, to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.

Required Skills:

Advanced knowledge of assigned discipline (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical).
Proficiency in estimating techniques and cost control.
Ability to interpret and analyze computerized cost data and systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Education and Certifications:

AACE recognition as a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) with eight (8) years of industry experience or four (4) years of related experience plus a four (4) year industry-related college degree.
ASPE recognition as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is preferred.
