Plant Controller

Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to serve as a key financial partner to plant operations. This role is responsible for driving the development, monitoring, and reporting of plant budgets and cost standards, ensuring financial accuracy and operational transparency. The successful candidate will perform monthly close activities, prepare and analyze financial results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business decisions and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities also include oversight of fixed cost reporting, manufacturing cost variances, asset management, and inventory accounting, with occasional travel to off-site manufacturing and storage locations.
MUST have manufacturing accounting experience and high proficiency in Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and management of annual operating budgets and cost-tracking tools in collaboration with plant leadership.
- Conduct month-end close activities for the plant, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
- Analyze plant performance, focusing on fixed costs, cost variances, inventory valuation, and capital assets.
- Provide financial guidance and insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Partner with operational and functional leaders to enhance cost efficiency and drive accountability.
- Participate in periodic inventory counts at third-party sites and ensure proper inventory controls are in place.
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP, with working knowledge of IFRS considered a plus.
- Develop and refine financial reporting processes and tools for improved analysis and forecasting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP; exposure to IFRS is advantageous.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a high attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different functions and levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10-15% to off-site manufacturing and storage facilities.
