An established manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its Oklahoma City-based team. This role offers the chance to contribute to a high-performing finance department at a well-respected company that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
As a key member of the accounting team, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial data to support cost management strategies, enhance efficiency, and contribute to accurate budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze costs related to materials, labor, and production to support strategic decision-making.
- Compare actual costs to standard costs and report on variances.
- Perform cost reconciliations and monitor inventory (raw, WIP, and finished goods).
- Support month-end close processes including cost of goods sold and inventory entries.
- Assist in internal reporting and compliance with US GAAP standards.
- Participate in ongoing process improvements and inventory control initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive financial transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 2 to 5 years Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment (preferably in Cost Accounting).
- Strong cost systems background and excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Advance knowledge of mathematics and statistics.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; ERP system experience required (SAP, SQL, or Power BI is a plus).
