Job Title: Senior Technical Recruiter (Contract)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid in 2025 - Must be local) Initial onboarding onsite a few times in Month 1; fully remote until hybrid begins in late 2025
Contract Duration: 18-24 Months
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Recruiter to manage full-cycle recruitment for Power Systems Engineers and other engineering roles, specifically targeting candidates from Independent System Operators (ISOs) and utility companies.
The recruiter will handle 5-12 open requisitions at a time, including multiple hires for the same role, and must be adept at leveraging Workday to drive an efficient hiring process.
This role requires a proactive, consultative recruiting approach and strong collaboration with hiring managers to ensure top engineering talent is attracted, assessed, and onboarded effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute full-cycle recruitment: intake, sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and align recruiting strategies accordingly.
- Validate and post job requisitions in appropriate channels using Workday and external job boards.
- Proactively source candidates via various channels including LinkedIn, job boards, and industry-specific platforms.
- Conduct thorough interviews to assess technical and cultural fit.
- Present qualified candidates to hiring managers and coordinate feedback and next steps.
- Perform compensation analysis to support competitive offer recommendations.
- Extend offers, negotiate terms, and manage pre-employment processes.
- Ensure adherence to internal compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously explore and implement new sourcing techniques and best practices.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of recruiting experience with a focus on technical or engineering roles.
- At least 3 years of corporate (in-house) recruiting experience.
- Proven track record sourcing engineering candidates, ideally within the energy, utilities, or ISO sectors.
- Strong command of Workday Recruiting platform.
- Experience supporting hiring managers through all phases of the hiring process.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Must be based in the Austin, TX area (even though hybrid model begins later in 2025).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience recruiting for power systems, electrical grid, or utility-scale engineering positions.
- Familiarity with recruiting for contract roles or multiple concurrent requisitions.
- Understanding of compensation analysis and offer strategy.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
