Job Overview:
Oversees all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of accounting principles, and a proven track record of driving financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Oversee the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for executive management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting principles and standards.
- Lead external audits including the preparation of financial reporting.
- Interpret complex financial transactions, including acquisitions, investments, divestitures, restructuring activities, etc.
Financial Analysis and Strategy
- Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial health and performance of the company, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations to executive management on key financial and operational issues.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic financial initiatives to drive growth and profitability.
- Leads annual financial audits.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members are equipped to excel in their roles and achieve departmental goals.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA designation preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in real estate or property management industry preferred.
