We are actively searching for a Controller for one of our private equity backed, growing manufacturing clients located in San Diego (North County). This person will be responsible for managing the monthly financial close process for the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, as well as the consolidation of the US entities. The Controller will ensure that accounting processes and systems are operating to provide efficient and accurate information to be used in reporting, financial statements and the annual operating plan. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will provide leadership to the department and overall organization from an accounting/finance and operational perspective. Specific responsibilities include:


  • Perform monthly financial closing process, including the preparation/review of account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis and distribution of monthly financial statements and financial/business information.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure the company has an effective internal control structure.
  • Oversee the accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, including their control systems, transaction processing operations and policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for oversight of the company's cost accounting function.
  • Provide support to Operations senior management with appropriate financial support and explanations
  • Provide meaningful measures and metrics to Operations management team to allow for timely decision-making and process improvement
  • Work with the outside audit firm to provide information requests for the annual audit.
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports for management as requested.

Qualification Requirements

Ideal candidate will have 8+ years combined experience with strong accounting, reporting and management experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. This person must be highly motivated and a team player. Strong Excel skills a must. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience required.
