We are seeking a results-driven Corporate Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting for a dynamic, private equity-backed manufacturing/distribution company. This role manages general ledger, cost and plant accounting, tax, treasury, audits, acquisitions, and financial compliance. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, manufacturing or distribution industry experience, and a track record in PE-owned environments.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Leadership
  • Lead and mentor teams across GL, cost, payroll, tax, treasury, and plant finance.
  • Manage timely and accurate financial close cycles in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.

Operations & Cost Management
  • Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and plant-level financials.
  • Align cost structures with operational and financial targets.
  • Partner with plant controllers to drive accuracy and performance.

Treasury & Banking
  • Manage banking relationships, covenant compliance, and cash operations.
  • Oversee reconciliations, credit programs, and treasury functions.
  • Provide reports to lenders and private equity stakeholders.

Tax & Payroll
  • Coordinate tax compliance with external advisors.
  • Ensure accurate payroll reporting and legislative compliance.

M&A & Integration
  • Support diligence and integration for acquisitions.
  • Align acquired entities with core financial systems and controls.

Audit & Compliance
  • Oversee external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Address audit findings and enhance reporting standards.

Reporting & Analysis
  • Deliver monthly/quarterly results, KPIs, and variance analysis to leadership.
  • Handle sensitive financial data and safeguard assets.
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc financial initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. MBA/CMA a plus.
  • 10+ years in accounting leadership within manufacturing or distribution.
  • ERP expertise (SAP preferred); strong Excel skills.
  • M&A integration experience required.
  • Experience working in a private equity-backed environment.
  • Strong communicator with cross-functional influence.
