An organization providing outpatient treatment for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders is seeking a Corporate Compliance Consultant for a temporary-to-permanent position. The organization provides treatment solely funded by California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and has locations in and between San Francisco and San Jose.
This is a hybrid opportunity that begins as a 90-day contract as Corporate Compliance Consultant after which a decision will be made on whether or not to offer a Full time position of Corporate Compliance Officer. When offered as a Full time opportunity, it will include a competitive compensation package with full benefits beginning the 1st day of the following month of hire (ex. February 18th hire = March 1st benefits OR March 2nd hire = April 1st benefits) and a generous time off policy for holiday, sick days, and vacation.
Candidates Will Have:
- Non-profit experience in Mental Health, Addiction, or Healthcare
- Experience with state licensing in California
- Experience with CARF certification
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration or related field (master's degree preferred)
- Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC, CHPC) strongly preferred
- At least 5 years of experience leading accreditation activities for a behavioral health organization or a community-based organization providing rehabilitation services for clients
- Demonstrated success developing and monitoring systems to manage both operational and programmatic work that involve high levels of collaboration
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee agency health and safety activities
- Lead the development of Policies & Procedures associated with agency health and safety activities
- Establish agency-wide goals to maintain and improve health and safety standards for OSHA, CCL, CARF, and agency Policies & Procedures
- Ensure site safety meetings meet established goals and objectives through coordination with facility safety coordinators
- Support planned response in safety or security emergencies affecting the facility (including weather events and natural disasters)
- Oversee agency risk management activities
- Manage annual Property/Casualty insurance policy renewals and claims management
- Participate in agency Safety Program structure changes and administration, in partnership with other departments and in compliance with agency certifications and accreditations
- Interact with privacy attorneys, general counsel, and eviction attorneys to protect agency assets
- Lead and oversee the development of Policies & Procedures that ensure internal staff are informed and compliant with regulations, standards, and rules
- Site Certifications and licensing activities
- Prepare for Med-Cal site certifications and licensing activities in anticipation of new programs, services, and/or facility relocation
- Ensure the timely renewal of business certifications, site use/occupancy certificates, current fire inspection certificates, and certificates of insurance
- Lead the agency CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Accreditation process
- Lead and successfully execute the accreditation process for all locations
- Oversee/manage project plans and documentation requirements for accreditation
- Engage and partner with the CARF accreditation working group to prepare for the accreditation process
- Partner with clinical and quality management staff to monitor and support ongoing compliance with CARF standards
