Sierra Executive Solutions, Inc. (SES) is a 3rd party search firm recruiting for a client company's Corporate Accounts Payable Manager in Reno, NV. This is a key, high level career position visible to Ownership and reporting to a tenured team of Directors and Chiefs of Accounting & Finance.
The Corporate Accounts Payable Manager provides excellent customer service to all Team Members at multiple casino/hotel properties and to multiple vendors. The ideal candidate for hire will be known to conduct himself/herself in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. The property is rated by AAA as a Four Diamond resort; less than five percent of the nearly 31,000 properties approved by AAA achieve this Four Diamond designation. The Steakhouse and other restaurants are recommended by Forbes Travel Guide and consistently receive the highest ratings by TripAdvisor. Since 2000 the Steakhouse and several other restaurants at the property have received the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates all activities to Corporate Director of Accounting and Executive Team.
- Successfully manages all Accounts Payable responsibilities.
- Ensures all negotiated contracts are paid as agreed on.
- Manages and completes all projects as assigned.
- Hires, trains and supervises AP staff
- Reviews all payments and sign off for Corporate Treasurer approval
- Prepare 10Q footnotes for related parties, commitments and contingencies
- Oversees month end journal entries as it pertains to AP
- Arrange receipt packages which contain duplicates of all purchase orders together with the matching invoices for processing
- Verify coding and posting of invoices, including bills from electricity, water, taxes, miscellaneous expenses, etc.
- Organize accounting tasks which will include accounts payable journals and project accounting books
- Regulate monthly closing of financial documents; post month end registers statements
- Prepare and educate personnel to improve their production capacity and work performance
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration or other finance affiliated profession is preferred but not required
- 3+ years of experience in GAAP and Accounts Payable at a Corporate level, coupled with at least 1 year of experience in a leading supervisory role of a corporate accounts payable unit
- Experience with multi-state, multi-entity accounts payable
- Excellent computer and business organization software proficiency
- Project management skills and customer service initiative
- Outstanding presentation skills in enlightening customers on accounting procedures
- Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent situations

Annual salary budget is $80K-$100K, depending on experience (DOE).
