Job Description: BROAD FUNCTION The Coordinator of Recruitment will support the operational goals of the OCC campus by managing the employee recruitment process with a commitment to creating an optimal workforce that enhances the College's student experience. The Coordinator will work closely with hiring managers to understand departmental needs and create effective processes to strengthen recruiting and hiring outcomes. This position will ensure compliance with established interviewing and hiring guidelines and policy, as well as applicable federal and state law. The Coordinator maintains an excellent command of diversity issues in recruitment and identifies recruiting sources that will create opportunities for increasing diversity within the college workforce. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of all college employees including faculty, adjunct faculty, professional, civil service, student workers and part time temporary staff. In collaboration with Financial Aid and Career Services the Coordinator manages the hiring of all student and federal work study student employees. Oversees and implements recruitment efforts and processes including sourcing/advertising, screening candidates, search committee guidelines and training, requesting Civil Service lists and sending out canvas letters, presenting job offers and the onboarding process. Partners with hiring managers to clarify expectations of the job/job description requisition requests, postings, and compensation analysis relative to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Requests and oversees annual fiscal year submission of temporary position requests for required departments and grant-funded areas; creates and tracks part-time temp hires on the shared drive spread sheet. Creates and enters search committee matrix in Hirezon. Reviews and approves interview questions to ensure equitable and consistent practices. Prescreens applicants and serves as the contact person for candidate inquiries and questions regarding salary and benefits. Expands and continually looks for outreach and recruitment opportunities to diverse populations including ethnicity, race, ability and veterans. Tracks metrics to determine the advertising locations with the best return on investment. Presents offers of employment and completes appropriate post-offer items such as background checks and transcript requests based on the position and with respect to the collective bargaining agreements. As needed, provides training and answers questions for new hires regarding the onboarding forms. Participates in New Hire Orientations. Ensures new position guides (job descriptions) are sent to and approved by the OCC Board of Trustees and SUNY for approval. Maintains Board of Trustee resolutions. Updates job position guides to reflect approval dates. Analyzes compensation and position grade structure and determines appropriate salary offers for new hires considering market and internal equity. Serves on College committees as assigned as Human Resources representative. Exercises the highest level of confidentiality and judgment in accordance with college policy to determine appropriate action. Promotes data integrity and enforces data standards. Other relevant duties as assigned. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalency At least three (3) years' experience with Human Resource functions to include recruiting and hiring. Experience in Human Resources must include working with HRIS recruitment program(s) Demonstrated ability to work independently PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience recruiting in a high-volume organization (ex. 60-75 open positions at a time) Experience and demonstrated success with digital recruiting platforms Experience in higher education Bilingual in English & Spanish. English and another language will also be considered. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Working knowledge of principles and practices of human resources Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Skilled in facilitating meetings and creating presentations Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and work with individuals at all levels of the organization Ability to analyze with a critical thought process for continuous improvement Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet changing demands Must be able to multitask and respond to multiple demands often with short deadlines Additional Information: Salary range is: $58,564 - $62,000, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
