RolesTo manage campus fitness and recreation facilities, develop and implement programming, and administer services that enhance student academic and learning experiences outside the classroom setting. Provide leadership and management of all facets of a comprehensive campus recreation program that helps support student health, satisfaction, and success. Manage the Hach Student Life Center. To provide leadership, development, and implementation of wellness and recreation programs to meet the needs of a diverse campus community of students. Provide oversight of fitness and recreation programs and services that support physical wellness and health. Provide individual and group fitness programs and efforts. Manage intramural and recreational opportunities.
Reports to: Dean of Student Affairs
Responsibilities- HACH STUDENT LIFE CENTER
- Manage budget
- Develop facility short term and long-term vision, and improvement plan
- Hire and manage team of students to assist with facility management
- Track use of various areas, pieces of equipment to generate data to help inform future changes to the facility and equipment procurement
- Generate reports to inform future initiatives, programs, facility upgrades, and maintain facility safety
- Coordinate use of Hach Center facilities
- Collaborate with campus departments to prepare for and support scheduled events and activities
- Develop and coordinate wellness programming and initiatives that support and encourage holistic and integrated student physical and mental well-being
- Oversee the development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of programs and services using best practices and institutional expectations to enhance student learning, success, and engagement.
- Foster a supportive environment for student success and healthy behavior through the development and implementation of initiatives, prevention activities, and assessments.
- Champion current and future student recreation, sport, and fitness needs.
- Identify and offer adaptive programming activities for students with disabilities.
- Actively cultivate and maintain critical partnerships with other departments including Academics, Athletics, Facilities, and Student Affairs.
- Management of student fitness facilities.
- Supervise student employees assuring positive organizational culture, empowerment, accountability, personal and professional growth, and alignment with University policies and expectations.
- Manage and grow all aspects of the campus intramural program.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications- Have at least a Bachelor's Degree
- Work beyond the traditional 40 hour work week
- Communicate effectively
