Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Regional Development Coordinatorposition in Georgia, specifically in Atlanta or Savannah, or Montgomery, AL.
The Regional Development Coordinator works with the Regional Development Manager (RDM) and Senior Regional Director (SRD) to implement and administer a plan for regional fundraising to achieve annual regional and overall organizational objectives. This position coordinates with national development team as required and communicates with RDM and program staff to build and refine programs, events and other local activities to facilitate "storytelling" and to help build brand awareness/reputation. The Regional Development Coordinator will collaborate with the RDM to cultivate and steward all corporate, foundation, and 3rd party relationships in the region to increase revenue and add new donors. The position also represents Operation Homefront's needs to the corporate, foundation, and 3rd Party community, and attracts resources for organizational priorities.
Desired candidates will have:
- Associate's degree in Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field desired.
- Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- 2 years' experience in non-profit fundraising and marketing desired.
- Experience with military families and programs preferred.
- Experience working with grant writing preferred.
- Volunteer management experience desired.
- Valid driver's license.
- Acceptable MVR (annual).
- Criminal background check.
- MS Office Programs.
- Access or ownership of an automobile.
- 100/300/100 personal auto coverage
Typical duties include:
- Builds, cultivates, and stewards relationships with a full spectrum of regional donor: corporate partners, foundation grants, to include donors for third party events and special events. In conjunction with the RDM, establishes a revenue goal and strategic plan for all donors; significant effort in generating donor leads and prospecting for new donors, especially at the local level.
- Augments regional program delivery team as required, leads periodic events each cycle and assists with special events as required.
- Drafts and submits grant applications for corporate and foundation donations as necessary to achieve fundraising goals. Maintains donor data base as required.
- Stewards existing donors, to include regular and frequent correspondence pre- and post-event, periodic check-in management, updates on regional activities, and expressing gratitude for ongoing partnerships.
- Assists with maintaining regional revenue pipeline and updates RDM and SRD as required on a frequent & regular basis.
- Coordinates regional volunteer teams to conduct development activities, to include solicitation and receipt of in-kind donations
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Details:
This will be a hybrid position with the ability to perform duties from a home office if desired; however, event support and periodic office meetings would require some travel to Atlanta, GA and surrounding areas.
General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events to include overnight travel at least 40% of the time. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
