JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator 2 - Data Solutions Development leads data solution projects from initial concept through to final deployment. This role designs, builds, and maintains end-to-end data systems and full-stack solutions, including databases, data pipelines, interactive dashboards, and custom applications. The role's primary focus is development within the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric environments and requires strong problem-solving skills, a proactive and analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Candidates must be highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leads end-to-end projects by gathering stakeholder requirements, defining project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs. Oversees execution by coordinating with cross-functional teams, tracking milestones, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Provides post-deployment support, including user assistance, maintenance, and iterative enhancements to ensure long-term value and performance.
2. Designs, develops and delivers intuitive, user-friendly experiences across dashboards, applications, websites, and other data-backed solutions. Builds and structures tools that support not only accurate, reliable, and accessible data presentation and consumption, but also seamless data entry and user interaction. Focuses on usability, performance, and interactivity-ensuring stakeholders can input information, complete workflows, and make well-informed decisions efficiently.
3. Designs and manages ETL processes and data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into lakehouses, warehouses, and Dataverse tables. Utilizes tools such as Dataflows, Spark notebooks, and languages like SQL, Power Query (M), Python, and R to architect and structure data for efficient consumption by end users or integration into applications and dashboards. Coordinates closely with vendors, data providers, and subject matter experts to identify, access, source and stage the appropriate data. Utilizes tools such as Power Query, Python, and Dataflows to clean, structure, and optimize data for reporting, analytics, and application development. Ensure data solutions are accurate, scalable, well-documented, and aligned with governance and quality standards.

4. Designs, develops, and maintains automation and integration solutions that streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance interoperability across platforms. Leverages automation tools like Power Automate and scripting languages like Python and PowerShell to build and manage processes that connect services, trigger actions, and facilitate real-time updates. These solutions support the automation of complex operations, interaction with APIs, and seamless integration with external systems and data services.
5. Provides comprehensive user support to ensure the successful adoption and ongoing effectiveness of data solutions. Responds to and resolves support tickets in a timely manner, troubleshoots technical issues, and collaborates with users to identify pain points and areas for improvement. Delivers presentations, facilitates training sessions, and creates user documentation and guidance materials to empower stakeholders in using dashboards, applications, and reports confidently and effectively.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned, including but not limited to continuously learning and adapting to new tools, technologies, and methodologies as needed to support evolving business needs and emerging data solution opportunities.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years working in a large urban school district. Or at least 3 years working in a business solution development or data analytics department.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

As the owner of their assigned products and solutions. They lead the implementation of their work by collaborating closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and end users throughout the project lifecycle. This includes driving vision and execution, gathering feedback, managing priorities, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical outcomes. The coordinator acts as a trusted lead for their solutions, taking accountability for delivering value and maintaining long-term functionality and performance.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

The role requires both independent judgment and collaborative decision-making to address a wide range of routine and complex challenges. While certain decisions may require approval from clients or management, the Coordinator is expected to take initiative in identifying issues, proposing innovative solutions, and improving current processes. This includes developing new ideas, enhancing existing methods, and contributing to the continuous advancement of data systems and user experiences.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

Decisions made in this role have a significant impact across multiple divisions or the organization as a whole. They can influence operational efficiency, interdepartmental relationships, project timelines, and financial outcomes-resulting in either notable improvements or potential risks. Errors in judgment may be difficult to detect, are often not subject to detailed review, and can lead to substantial costs, delays, or disruption of critical data and technology solutions.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

Engages in collaborative problem-solving by working with others to clarify requirements, interpret complex data or policies, and develop practical solutions. Regularly communicates with customers, senior-level professionals, and managers to gather feedback, share updates, and align project goals. Provides responsive customer support by addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring users are equipped to effectively interact with dashboards, applications, and tools. While the role does not include approval authority, it may involve facilitating initial discussions, resolving issues, and guiding stakeholders through decision-making processes.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Leads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer's decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.
Monitors customer service standards.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
