Under the general direction of the Supervising Cook, the Cook Specialist will be responsible for the management of the Kitchen Culinary Program. The general description of the position shall be to supervise Kitchen Corpsmembers during kitchen working hours and to ensure the preparation and service of meals to include cleaning and sanitation in an institutional/commercial kitchen setting in the assigned service district.
Provides supervision, guidance, and direction to Corpsmembers during Corpsmembers' working hours in an institutional/commercial kitchen setting in order to maintain general order and discipline, while promoting Corpsmember self-discipline and an awareness of others.Trains Corpsmembers in the basics of meal preparation and service as well as cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and dining hall. Ensures proper management and control of the kitchen and dining hall area to encourage and maintain clean living conditions including monitoring the facilities food service and cleanup schedule. May be responsible for CCC facilities on the weekend.

Working Conditions
Duties will be performed at the Placer Center located at 3710 Christian Valley Rd. Auburn, CA 95602.
Working in a commercial/institutional kitchen environment with occasional engagement in multiple environments. Routine work schedule with some flexibility due to the needs of corpsmembers and staff.
