POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs a variety of tasks requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Prepares and cooks food as directed by the food service director
- Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
- Serves and portions meals in an appealing manner
- Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
- The dietary cook candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
- Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
- Prior experience in food service and preparation.
- Prior experience in long-term care preferred
