Starting pay for nursing as follows:
CNA - 18.00 - 23.00 per hour
LPN - 32.00 - 37.00 per hour
RN - 37.00 - 42.00 per hour
Weekend Option additional 5.00-7.00 per hour

Description

1. Prepares food indicated in menu using standardized recipes based on standard portion size.

2. Estimated food requirements and controls serving portions, eliminating waste and leftovers.

3. Checks equipment and cooking area often to make sure they maintain safety and sanitation requirements.

4. Keeps work area clean and performs other cleaning as assigned on cleaning schedule.

5. Follows menu provided, making changes only with the consent of supervisor and recording these changes on appropriate form.

6. Responsible for preparation and service of attractive, well-cooked, tasty foods at proper temperature for regular and special diets.

7. Cooperates and has a pleasant attitude with all patients and personnel in the facility.

8. Washes pots and pans maintaining sanitary procedure.

9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

10. The cook is in charge of the kitchen in the Dietary Supervisor's absence. The dietary aides will report to the cook. Also, the cook will enforce all rules, policies and procedures in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The cook will be responsible to oversee that the kitchen is left clean and organized before she/he leaves the shift. The cook will also assign extra cleaning duties to be done when the dietary aides are finished with their work, insuring that everyone is kept busy at all times. When the Food Service Supervisor comes back to work the cook will report any problems and/or any necessary disciplinary action to the Food Service Supervisor.

11. Promote positive public relations for the facility.

12. Maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to uniform requirements.

1. Must be able to read, write, communicate effectively, make simple calculations and follow oral and written instructions.

2. Previous Cook experience in an institutional setting helpful.

3. Must have ability to work cooperatively with others.

4. Must be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in dealing with residents.

5. Must be able to maintain pace.

6. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist and lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
