Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage inventory efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Services Director to place orders as required
  • Prepare nutritious and appealing meals adhering to Maplewood's high standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of food service areas
  • Engage proactively with staff, residents, and guests to enhance satisfaction
  • Lead kitchen staff in maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment focused on teamwork
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
  • Serve Safe Certification required
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in food preparation
  • Familiarity with cooking times and temperatures in accordance with state guidelines
  • Knowledge of meat cuts and seasoning
  • Proven ability in a variety of food preparation techniques
  • Experience catering to the dietary needs of seniors is preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training in culinary arts preferred
