JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plan, prep, set-up, cook and provide quality service in all areas of food production breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items and specials in the designated outlets in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications.
Maintains organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Preparation Tasks:
- Set up work station
- Fill up clean sanitizer bucket
- Wipe entire station before starting cooking or prepping tasks
- Set up with knives and utensils needed for the shift
- Use checklist to mise en place your station with the prep needed, always prioritize
Daily functions:
- Prepare meat, fish, poultry and other items
- Cook food orders immediately as they arrive, always read the ticket carefully
- Properly operate stoves, grills, fryers, broilers, and other utensils in preparing the food orders
- Keep stations clean during preparation and service
- Adhere to health department regulations
- Responsible for the proper rotation and storage of all food items (follow storage levels)
- Inform Chef of any abnormalities in food quality
- Complete opening and closing duties (change containers, label and rotate), clean and organize station before leaving
- Prepare employee meals when needed
- Prepare recipes as outlined by the Sous Chef or Chef
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Sous Chef or Chef
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
- 1-2 years restaurant experience
Desirable:
- Must have a high school education or GED
- Two years experience in a fine dinning restaurant or resort
- Exceptional knife skills
- Fluent in English
- Basic math functions
- Flexible schedule
- Culinary school preferred.
Pay rate for this position is $24 per hour.
