Are you a skilled cook looking to earn extra income while making a difference? Fulshear, a residential treatment center located near Houston, TX, is hiring a
part-time cook to prepare healthy, home-style meals for up to 30 residents in a therapeutic, supportive environment.
In this role, you'll be responsible for
meal preparation, maintaining a
clean and safe kitchen, and building positive daily connections with clients. If you're experienced in food prep, organized, and passionate about helping others, we'd love to hear from you.
Fulshear supports young adult women+ (ages 18-28) healing from
trauma,
anxiety,
depression,
addiction, and other mental health challenges. Our 34-acre ranch provides equine therapy, family therapy, and individual counseling in a peaceful, recovery-focused setting.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook nutritious meals for clients and staff, fostering a positive dining experience.
- Ensure food service meets high standards for nutrition, safety, sanitation, and quality.
- Follow recipes, determine food quantities, and adhere to meal schedules
- Adhere to any dietary restrictions and special dietary needs of clients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Participate in weekly meetings as well as ongoing training, development, and supervision.
Qualifications- Passionate about cooking with a warm approach that balances kindness and clear boundaries.
- Current Food Handler's certification is required
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong time-management skills, ensuring smooth meal preparation and timely service.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in basic computer operations and commonly used software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, data entry systems).
- Experience cooking in residential programs, hospitals, or mental health settings is preferred
