Location: Shady Nook, Lawrenceburg, IN
Shift: Full-Time 5:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Shady Nook is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team at our skilled nursing facility. This role is essential in preparing, cooking, and presenting meals that meet the dietary needs and satisfaction of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals following established menus and portion control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies.
• Review menus in advance to coordinate preparation and food service.
• Complete required administrative tasks, including forms and reports, as directed by the Director of Food Services.
• Follow and enforce all food safety, sanitation, and facility policies.
• Accommodate special dietary needs and prepare substitute meals as necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen, including food storage areas.
• Assist with or direct daily cleaning tasks to uphold sanitation standards.
• Lead by example, fostering teamwork and a harmonious workplace environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • One year of cooking experience in a supervisory capacity within a hospital, nursing facility, or related healthcare environment preferred but not required.
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Ability to prepare various foods in large quantities.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and safety procedures.
  • Leadership abilities with a commitment to teamwork.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Capability to handle the mental and emotional demands of the position.
• Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.
