What do I need as a Cook with McGregor? - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Culinary degree preferred.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or one to two years of equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in quantity cooking is preferred.
- Servsafe certification preferred.
What will I do as a Cook with McGregor? - Read menus and spreadsheets, consult with Dining Services Supervisor as necessary regarding the preparation of food and use of leftovers.
- Follow daily requisitions for necessary foodstuffs.
- Plan preparation of foodstuff in advance to ensure all food is prepared when needed and in quantities specified to serve eye-appealing, tasty food items. (Food is thawed, fresh, and proper amounts available).
- Portion food and arrange prepared foods in an attractive and appetizing manner.
- Prepares hot entrees, soups, and vegetables according to standardized recipes and special diets. Following preparation sheets and recipes.
- Prepares in advance as indicated by checking the next day's menus, production sheets, and supplies.
