We are currently looking for a Full Time Cook II to join our Okchamalis Unit 1 team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.
Summary:
Performs a full range of complex and varied cooking procedures for patients and cafeteria patrons.
Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and or participates in the onboarding of new staff when necessary
Ensures appropriate temperature, labeling and storage of food and food products to avoid contamination and ensure quality
Prepares nutritious and attractive meals ensuring special nutritional needs are met
Assists in maintaining proper records including food purchase forms, menu planning guides, meal counts, and freezer/refrigerator logs
Maintains proper sanitation and safety practices
Ensures cleanliness, maintenance, safety and sanitation of kitchen and or other assigned areas and reports all necessary problems immediately
Cooks, prepares, assembles and plates all food in a tasteful and timely manner
Monitors ongoing quality through tasting, smelling, and observing food to ensure consistency with recipes and appearance standards
Ability to prepare food for service including but not limited to chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, cutting fruit, preparing meats and stocking inventory appropriately
Follows prescribed menus and recipes
Review patient orders , making sure the selections comply with physician ordered modified diets
Assigns, reviews, monitors and ensures performance of assigned staff for area of responsibility
- Participates in candidate selection process

- Reviews and documents work effectiveness of assigned staff
- Coaches and corrects assigned staff through performance deficiencies
- Observes and documents work behaviors of assigned staff
