2025 SUMMER NON CONGREGATE SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM: ALL POSITIONS PENDING STUDENT PARTICIPATION AND NEED Position: Cook I/II Two positions per site based on student participation and need.
Location(s): Dingess, Gilbert PK8, Burch PK8, Kermit PK8 and Williamson PK8.
Time(s): Report and end times will vary depending on delivery and distribution schedules. Schedules will be assigned by the Child Nutrition Office.

Job Description: - Maintain positive work habits.
- Perform duties effectively and productively.
- Maintain/upgrade job related skills.
- Perform/attend all job related training - Summer Food Non-Congregate Training will be required.
- Organize and accept shipment of summer meal boxes for summer feeding program (as needed) - breakfast and lunch.
- Complete accurate meal count sheets for the Summer Food Service Program, including WVEIS numbers and other pertinent student information.
- Remove trash in the kitchen and food distribution area.
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all food and food distribution area.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all school and kitchen equipment and carts used for food distribution.
- Maintains list of students registered for pick up along with contact information and WVEIS numbers.
- Makes calls, contacts and communicates with parents/guardians for reminders of meal pick up, as needed.
- Distributes boxes in an organized and safe manner.
- Monitors portion and quality control of products.
- Verifies invoices for cost, quality and quantity of deliveries.
- Maintains accurate daily meal counts for boxes distributed, including student WVEIS numbers and contact information.
- Maintains the proper use and care of school and all equipment.
- Maintains food boxes to insure freshness.
- Maintains positive public and employee relation skills.
- Promotes the non-congregate summer feeding program.
- Perform other related tasks of the summer program as assigned by the Child Nutrition Director.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED
- Must have passed the State Competency Test for this classification
- Demonstrates competencies of job
- Ability to communicate, read, writes and make basic calculations and follow written and oral instructions
- Good health with average physical strength with capability to lift large containers of food (50 lbs.)
- Possess a valid Food Handlers Card and meet all local and state health requirements
- Ability to relate well with children and adults.
- Length of Employment: Up to 17 days to be determined by the Child Nutrition Director between June 16th and August 7th pending student participation and need, as assigned. No vacation or Professional Development Days will be allowed while under contract to work summer programs. No paid holidays.
Tentative Effective Employment Date: June 17, 2025
