Position: Cook I/II
Location(s): Mingo Central High School and Non-Congregate Sites, as needed
Time: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Job Description:
  1. Maintain positive work habits.
  2. Perform duties effectively and productively.
  3. Maintain/upgrade job related skills.
  4. Perform/attend all job related training.
  5. Prepare and serve food and meals for summer feeding program - breakfast and lunch.
  6. Complete accurate meal count sheets for the Summer Food Service Program
  7. Remove trash in the kitchen and food preparation/serving areas.
  8. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all food and food service areas.
  9. Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
  10. Assists in the interpretation/planning of menus and food preparation.
  11. Monitors portion and quality control of products.
  12. Verifies invoices for cost, quality and quantity of deliveries.
  13. Maintains accurate daily records for milk and meals.
  14. Maintains the proper use and care of kitchen equipment, including reporting equipment repair needs.
  15. Assists with maintaining accurate meal count sheets.
  16. Inventories and orders all food and supplies.
  17. Follows all summer meal patterns.
  18. Maintains positive public and employee relation skills.
  19. Perform other related tasks of the summer program as assigned by the Child Nutrition Director.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have passed the State Competency Test for this classification
  • Demonstrates competencies of job
  • Ability to communicate, read, writes and make basic calculations and follow written and oral instructions
  • Good health with average physical strength with capability to lift large containers of food (50 lbs.)
  • Possess a valid Food Handlers Card and meet all local and state health requirements
  • Ability to relate well with children and adults
  • Length of Employment: June 16, 2025 - July 11, 2025. No vacation or Professional Development will be permitted while under contract to work summer programs. No holidays
