TITLE: Cook/Food Service Position(s) at Springfield Local School District

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to read, write and calculate recipes and modifications.
2. Organization abilities to achieve job goal.
3. Ability to work in cooperation with others.
4. Successful BCI/FBI background checks.

REPORTS TO: Head Cook, then Supervisor

JOB GOAL: To help prepare attractive, nutritionally balanced meals in an efficient and sanitary manner and also serve meals to the staff and students in a courteous manner.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follow daily work instructions of head cook in an organized, efficient manner using appropriate sanitary and safety techniques.
2. Serve menu items in a courteous, helpful, and appetizing manner using proper serving utensils and portion sizes.
3. Sanitary use and storage of all food and supplies.
4. Maintaining organized cooler and stockroom and using the "first in-first out (FIFO) stock rotation.
5. Clean up of all tables and chairs in the cafeteria, including salad bar and steam table, and kitchen areas including dishes and dishwasher daily.
6. Cleaning of refrigerators, stoves, stockrooms and steam tables at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by head cook.
7. Report any items needed to head cook on a daily or weekly basis.
8. Reporting any and all accidents, discrepancies, problems, etc., as they arise to the head cook or Supervisor.
9. Additional duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor, head cook, or Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 186 contract days

Salary as per District adopted salary schedule.
