The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all food service related activities for all of the Casas in collaboration with the consultant dietician. This position works closely with the Casa Managers and the Residential Counselors to organize dietary services for the program. Essential to this role is the ability to plan, organize, and manage the food service program.

Shifts Available:

Full Time; AM 8:00 am - 4:30 pm OR 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday

Expected starting wage range is $17.39 - $20.95. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Qualifications
Required:
Possess a Food Handlers Certificate or License issued by the state of Oregon
Valid Oregon driver's license, vehicle, and a motor vehicle record clearance
Desire to work with adults with mental impairments
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment

Job Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and directs the food service for the program
Plans and implements cyclical menus for regular and therapeutic diets in conjunction with the consultant dietician
Ensures follow-through by program staff related to food service items
Manages the program's budget related to food services
Trains residential staff in safe food preparation skills as part of each individual's orientation and on an annual basis thereafter
Collaborates with administrative staff, including the program administrator and Managers, on strategic planning activities with the goal of ensuring ongoing effectiveness of the program
Meets with Managers and Residential Counselors as appropriate to discuss issues related to food service, and receives suggestions related to the menu or any other relevant issues
Assesses, monitors, and documents nutritional information regarding resident dietary needs
Attends treatment team meetings as needed to discuss resident dietary problems
Shops for the program or orders appropriate food supplies
Monitors food service practices and ensures that residents nutritional needs are met on an ongoing basis
Conducts a weekly group related to menu planning to involve and engage members served
Maintains refrigerator temperature logs
Ensures good hygiene and cleanliness related to food service and conducts regular inspections to promote follow through in this area
Is available for treatment team meetings as requested
Maintains contact and ongoing dialogue with the consultant dietician to ensure that residents' dietary needs are met appropriately
Manages the food service activities of the program within allocated budgetary parameters and participates in the development of the fiscal budget
Ensures that the kitchen areas and equipment are maintained in sanitary condition
Purchases food supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner
Conducts inventories of supplies on hand
Has responsibility for all activities related to compliance to local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to food service for residential programs
Establishes and defines standards which ensure that safe practices are consistently followed within the department
Assesses the quality of food service and communicates findings to the Manager and program Administrator
Establishes and maintains a comprehensive Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program related to food service
