DIETARY COOK- Cranberry Park of West Bloomfield FULL TIME

Cook & Assistant Cook Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Follow recipes and prepare foods that correspond to menu cycles prepared by the dietitian, including therapeutic and modified consistency diets.
- Cook or prepare palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities of supplies & equipment.
- Ensure meals are appealing, appetizing and nutritionally sound.
- Work on tray line or in dining rooms serving meals to residents.
- Does necessary preparation of foods for the following day's menu.
- Maintain sanitation standards as defined by facility policy and procedure while in the prep areas of the kitchen as well as the dish room.
- Communicates with Director of Food Service & Dietitian throughout shift as needed to best meet needs of residents.
- Attend required staff in-services
- Other duties as assigned.
Cooks Requirements: - Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Current identification.
Experience: - Prior experience in long term care is preferred.
- Prior experience in commercial restaurant is preferred
