Position Description: Perform duties to ensure proper cook and chill methods are conducted in accordance with product specification and USDA regulations.
Primary Responsibilities: - Prepare cook or chill tanks by filling and setting temperatures
- Prepare dollies for cook process
- Monitor tank water levels, temperatures, and equipment performance throughout the cook/chill processes, making adjustments as needed
- Record product and cook information on appropriate forms or enter into computer system
- Select appropriate recipe programs in computer system
- Pull racks of product and move to next phase of process
- Conduct hand probe temperature readings on cooked product
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with employee and food safety procedures, rules, and regulations
- Operate jeep/walker for the movement of product
- Complies with and adheres to all employee safety and food safety programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Not applicable
Position Requirements: - Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual Spanish preferred
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Basic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Proficient with basic math skills
- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends
- One to three years related experience preferred
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
Physical Requirements: - Able to lift more than 50 pounds daily
- Able to push/pull between lbs with assistance daily
- Able to tolerate extreme temperatures daily
- Able to climb vertical ladders 3-4 feet off ground frequently throughout the day
- Walking or standing 100% of day
- Bending/stooping daily
Training Period: Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to one year
