Welcome. Learn More About Shoreline AND Video Tour Our Campus. The Parent Child Center (PCC) is the home of Shoreline's youngest learners. The PCC is a licensed childcare facility and early-learning lab located on the campus of Shoreline Community College. We participate in Washington State's Early Achievers program and serve Shoreline Community College students, employees and community members.
This position supervises part-time employees working in the kitchen, coordinates, and participates in food preparation and serving all food according to the menu. This position may assist in the planning and organizing of food service for site activities as well as keeping track of receipts and uploading required CACFP documentation.
Primary responsibilities include the following: - Supervise all assigned kitchen personnel on the shift that participates in cooking duties.
- Ensure that each meal is served at scheduled times.
- Inspect kitchen and storage areas to ensure proper sanitary precautions are observed and spoilage minimized.
- Prepare weekly/monthly menus that follow CACFP guidelines.
- Document/complete temperature logs for the freezer/refrigerator.
- Prepare/document/complete paperwork for the Child & Adult Care Food Program, and Washington Integrated Nutrition System.
- Maintain production records and food records for CACFP.
- Reconcile food ordering, balancing of receipts payable.
- Operate kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Purchase food items for the center and complete monthly purchases paperwork.
- Track/organize receipts and kitchen documents/files.
- Establish work methods and supervise and instruct others in cooking and kitchen work; estimate quantities and follow large scale recipes; follow written and oral instructions.

Required Education & Experience: - One year of lead work experience in cooking in institution or commercial food preparation
Legal Qualifications - Must have or be able to attain within first 30 days of hire: - Current First Aid/CPR certification
- TB Test/HIV/Bloodborne Pathogen Training
- Portable Background Check
- Food Workers Card
Knowledge Of: - Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word programs
- Practices, methods, and procedures of large-scale food preparations; food values and nutrition; hygiene, food handling, sanitation, and safety precautions; care and use of kitchen utensils and equipment; record keeping; report preparation.
- Basic math skills to calculate measurements conversions/order supplies
- Understanding of food substitutions and components of childhood general nutrition
- Entering and/or retrieving data accurately in computerized record keeping systems
Skill In: - Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness
- Time management, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines/priorities
- Handling difficult and sensitive situations, using sound independent judgment within college & legal guidelines

Conditions of EmploymentPhysical Work Environment: - This position will perform work in a large industrial kitchen with a standard office setting.

- Fast paced and exposed to hazardous situations and conditions that produce cuts or minor burns.
Terms Of Employment/Salary: This position is allocated to pay range 40 ($43,812 - $58,368 annually) under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works 40 hours per week, with a schedule dependent upon department needs. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
