Job Title: Control Systems Lead (CSL) Locations: South Sacramento/North Sacramento/Rancho Cordova Pay: $37/hr - $55/HR Job Description As a Control Systems Lead (CSL), you will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying Material Handling Equipment (MHE) controls systems to ensure operational performance and efficiency. You will work on equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, control cabinets, and more. The CSL is depended upon to provide support to the Operations and Maintenance team through the implementation of solutions for difficult problems and tracking of related projects. While further developing your skills, you may lead and/or assist other technicians with their development through continuity of knowledge. All while working in a clean, climate-controlled, modern facility.
Responsibilities - Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Maintain material handling control systems, industrial, motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot and modify software projects for material handling control systems, including PLC controllers and the Compactlogix PLC platform utilizing Rockwell's software package.
- Act as first level escalation support for the control system technician teams and escalate downtime situations to vendors or headquarters for support.
- Apply subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization of systems.
- Monitor MHE metrics and partner with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies.
- Partner with Facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations.
- Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and the maintenance team.
Essential Skills - 3+ years of cumulative work experience in programming/commissioning of HMI, PLC, and VFDs.
- Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs.
- Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Experience supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems.
- Knowledge of equipment control components such as relays, motor starters, VFDs, and HMIs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Positive attitude and effective problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Associate's degree with a focus in Electronic Technology or a similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
- 4+ years of experience in the electrical field or in control systems development, troubleshooting, and programming.
- 4+ years of experience supporting advanced automation controls systems maintenance and development.
- 3+ years of experience supporting a wide range of conveyors and sortation systems.
- Leadership and project management experience.

Work Environment The work involves physical demands such as reaching overhead, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps/ladders, using an aerial lift, and frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. of equipment. Tasks require wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, face masks, face shields, and composite toe shoes. The role involves movement between departments, floors, and properties, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day, and working in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures. Regular computer use for 1-2 hours per day is also required.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $77209.60 - $111696.00/yr.
