Senior Controls Specialist
$110,000- $125,000 Position Overview A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Specialist to support the control systems and electrical engineering functions at one of its key production facilities in Turlock, California. This role involves the design, maintenance, and optimization of electrical and automation systems and may occasionally support other company sites. This opening is a backfill and plays a vital role in maintaining plant reliability and production efficiency. Key Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize control systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and related field devices
• Perform reactive and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment
• Handle motor wiring, starter and fuse replacements, and general electrical diagnostics
• Provide technical leadership for equipment upgrades and process improvements
• Develop and maintain control systems documentation, including standards and equipment settings
• Lead electrical/control projects, including managing contractors and vendors
• Identify and implement cost-saving or process-stabilizing improvements
• Stay current with relevant technologies and industry best practices
• Ensure all activities comply with safety and regulatory standards
• Support production quality, sanitation, and safety protocols Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• 5-8 years of relevant technical experience, ideally in food or beverage manufacturing (dairy industry experience a plus)
• Proficient with HMI and ControlLogix programming, schematic design, VFD/pump control, and instrumentation
• Strong background in plant maintenance and industrial electrical systems
• Effective at juggling priorities and communicating across departments
• Certifications may be required or obtained during employment Benefits
